Fish farming industry
Fish farm and process industry.
Marine pastures require filters with filtration levels usually as low as 90 microns to filter out fish wastes as, fish shells and other organic waste. The aquaculture industry has a great need to filter organic waste in their processes. The TWF filters, can filter this water down to 20 microns when needed.
Fish farming industry consists often of many small processing plants, and some numbers of larger plants. As in most processing industries, fish processing operations produce wastewater containing a substantial amount of contaminants in soluble, colloidal and particulate forms.
The degree of contamination depends on the process. It may be small (washing operations), (fish filleting), or heavy boat storage tanks unloading, blood/wastewater from facilities storage tanks, fish processing has big environmental challenges because those workloads generate a substantial amount of water that needs to be rinsed before returning to environment.
Another key application area of our filter is related to the filtration of sea louse (salmon lice), where our filter is particularly well suited for filtration of microorganisms in sea waters, in these matters we will normally use filter mesh sized 37 micron and upwards. This is a critical function especially for the land-based fish farms, where fresh seawater intake needs to be filtrated before being pumped on land, and also before pumping back to the sea. Our systems can help in separation of biomasses from the flows connected to the fish farm industry by using separators on the waste water line on our filters.
